BEIJING, March 17 (InfoChina) - The University of California's 66 US billion dollar endowment became the latest large fund to divest itself from foreign companies doing business in Sudan, PetroChina and Sinopec included, Dow Jones reported today.

BEIJING, March 17 (InfoChina) - The University of California's 66 US billion dollar endowment became the latest large fund to divest itself from foreign companies doing business in Sudan, PetroChina and Sinopec included, Dow Jones reported today.
Though PetroChina insists that the Sudan oil asset belong to its parent company, it is still listed in the nine companies from which the American university fund withdrew.
The nine are Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (500103.BY), an India-based power generation company; PetroChina (NYSE: PTR) and Sinopec (NYSE: SNP); Nam Fatt Corp., a Malaysian construction firm; Videocon Industries Ltd., an Indian consumer electronics firm; PECD Berhard, a Malaysian construction company; Tatneft (TNT), a Russian energy company; Oil and Natural Gas Co., an Indian firm, and Sudan Telecom Co. Ltd. (SDTL.BH).
