BEIJING, August 22 (InfoChina) – Sinopec (NYSE: SNP), Asia’s top refiner, has postponed the operation start-up of its Hainan refinery to this November because of some technological problems with the refinery, company sources were quoted by media as saying.
This is the second time that the trial operation was postponed because of the still-to-be-solved technological problems. The first postponement happened in July. The 160,000 barrel/day refinery was originally planned to start operation this June. A cargo of 270,000 tons of crude was shipped to the refinery this May but because of the operation delay, the oil was transported to other Sinopec refineries. |
