Sinopec Tianjin ethylene project to complete overall design in Sept |

TIANJIN, September 1 (InfoChina) – The overall design for Sinopec’s Tianjin ethylene project will be completed by the end of September, after which full-scale construction will start, according to Sinopec Tianjin Petrochemical Company.
Meanwhile, its refining expansion project is also under preparations. The whole project, including a one million t/y ethylene plant and a 10 million t/y refinery, is expected to be completed by 2009, according to the company’s pervious saying. Analysts forecast that by the end of 2010, China’s ethylene production will reach 17 million tons/year, while its apparent demand will jump to 27 million tons/year. China’s ethylene self-supply ratio is only to rise to 58%. |
