BEIJING, September 7 (InfoChina) – Asia’s largest oil refiner, Sinopec’s (NYSE:SNP, SH: 600028) new refinery in China’s southernmost Hainan Province yesterday shipped 1,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for Guangdong Province, which is the first time for Hainan to supply LPG out of the island province.
This marks the Hainan refinery finally comes into commercial operation. Due to technical problems, operation of Sinopec’s 80 million tons/year Hainan refinery has been postponed. It is said that the refinery kicked off test run in mid-August. The project with a total investment of 11.6 billion yuan mainly focuses on diesel, gasoline and kerosene. |
