BEIJING, October 9 (InfoChina) – CDC Games, a wholly owned subsidiary of China.com Inc, a unit of CDC Corporation (Nasdaq: CHINA), announced recently that the company had got the exclusive right to agent the upcoming online game The Lord of the Rings Online in China.
The company takes the move to tap China’s fast growing online game market. The new game, presented by US-based Turbine, Inc., is expected to come out formally in the second quarter of 2007. Currently, more than 125,000 players in US have trialed the game test. CDC Games and the game developer company would localize the game to suit Chinese demand. Both CDC games and Turbine pin high hopes on the game, as serial movie The Lord of the Rings has reaped 2.9 billion US dollars from ticket sales worldwide. |
