BEIJING, October 10 (InfoChina) – BMW Group plans to launch three upgraded models in Series 5 in China and Brilliance-BMW, a joint venture of BMW and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: CBA), is designated to be the producer, according to BMW China.
BMW 530Li, BMW 525Li, and BMW 523Li, are lengthened luxury commercial sedans in BMW Series 5 with long wheelbases, so as to better meet Chinese consumers’ appetites for comfort and large space at the back seats. The new models are decorated with precious Dakota feather, 8-inch screens on the back of the front seats and a fridge between the back seats. They are equipped with the most advanced vertical six-cylinder engines with an output capacity ranging from 177-258 horsepower. Their maximum speed may reach 250 kilometers per hour. The new models are expected to make their first appearance during the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition on November 18-27, 2006. BMW joined hands with CBA in May 2004 to jointly produce sedans in Shenyang of northeast China’s Liaoning Province. |
