BEIJING, Feb. 15 (InfoChina) – Statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics show that China’s consumer price index (CPI) rose 2.2 percent in January this year over January last year, which represented a drop of 0.6 percentage point from December. The CPI slowdown will greatly ease the pressure on interest rate rise and analysts thus rule out the possibility for the central bank to raise interest rate in the near future. (InfoChina/Xinhua)
