BEIJING, March 1 (InfoChina) – Yuchai Group, the parent company of China Yuchai International Ltd (NYSE:CYD) will help turn Yulin, a city in China’s southwest Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region where the group is located, into China’s largest vehicle-use diesel engine and related parts production base as planned by Guangxi Economic and Trade Commission.
According to the plan of the local government, Guangxi will make great efforts to develop automotive industry in the years to come by establishing major manufacturing bases in Liuzhou, Guilin and Yulin. It expects the local automotive industry to generate annual sale revenue of 68 billion yuan by 2010.
As Yuchai Group’s hometown, Yulin’s task is to develop such products as heavy, medium and light-duty diesel engines, transmission box assembly for heavy trucks and parts for engines, to make the city the country’s largest base in producing vehicle-use diesel engines and parts.
