BEIJING, March 19 (InfoChina) -- Aluminum Corp of China (Chalco, ACH.NYSE, 2600.HK) kicked off on March 18 construction of an alumina mining project in Chongqing city, southwest China, and the mining project is the main part of the city’s 800,000-ton alumina project. The local Chongqing Daily reported that the project is expected to be preliminarily completed in three years and serves as part of a long-term plan to build Chongqing city into an aluminum processing hub with internationally competitive edge.
