BEIJING, May 31 (InfoChina) – China Eastern Airlines (NYSE: CEA, HK: 0670, SH: 600115) on May 29 quoted its 100 percent equities in a subsidiary, Shanghai China Eastern Investment Co., Ltd, for sale on the Shanghai United Assets and Equity Exchange, with the quoted price at 467.5732 million yuan.

Luo Zhuping, secretary of the company, said to Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News that the subsidiary’s major business of investing in airports needed long payback period, and is thus inappropriate to China Eastern’s strategy.

According to statistics from Shanghai United Assets and Equity Exchange, Shanghai China Eastern Investment has total assets of 468.3456 million yuan. In 2006, the investment company was incurred loss of 737,719 yuan. (Edited by Lin Fanjing, )
