Saifun acquires SMIC’s 90 nm technology PDF Print E-mail

BEIJING, July 3 (InfoChina) - Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, (SMIC, NYSE: SMI, HKSE: 0981) and Saifun Semiconductors Ltd. (Saifun, NYSE: SFUN), a leading provider of Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) technology, jointly announced that Saifun will acquire 90 nm production technology and related intellectual copyrights from SMIC, marking the first development cooperation between the two companies. It is learned that SMIC has delivered its first NAND flashes that are based on 90 nm production technology. The flash with a capacity of 2GB adopts Saifun’s NROM technology and will be available on the market later this year. The two companies also collaborated on delivering 8GB Data flash, which is expected to reach the market in 2008. (Edited by Yang Liu, )
