BEIJING, July 12 (InfoChina) – Ding Lei, CEO of Netease.com Inc. (Nasdaq: NTES), disclosed that the company will release its first online 3D game, Tianxia II, in the spring of 2008.

Ding Lei gave two reasons why the company decided to re-develop Tianxia II. He said it took such a long time for players to see important scenes of the old version of the game that new players lost confidence. Moreover, the old version attached too much attention to traditional culture, which impeded popularization of the game.

In April 2007, Netease announced re-development of Tianxia II and appointed a new head to lead the development team, but the company declined to tell when the game would be available at that time. (Edited by Yang Liu, )
