China Eastern’s financial arm starts H-share brokerage business

BEIJING, July 17 (InfoChina) – China Eastern Group’s financial arm, namely China Eastern Financial Co., Ltd, recently established a new unit named China Eastern International Finance Co., Ltd, to engage in brokerage services for Chinese mainland investors to trade H-shares listed in Hong Kong, according to Economic Observer.
China Eastern International Finance Co., Ltd is actually based on the former Hongkong Wanli Securities, which was acquired by China Eastern Financial in December 2006.
After launching H-share brokerage business, China Eastern Financial also plans to march into other financial businesses related to options, forex, financial derivatives and futures.
As revealed by a senior official, China Eastern Financial schemes to add 100 million yuan for applying for all of nine financial licenses in Hong Kong by the end of this year. (Edited by Lin Fanjing,
