BEIJING, Aug. 7 (InfoChina) – Heads of the provincial branches of China Telecom (NYSE: CHA, HK: 0728) would see big reshuffle, after the country’s four telecom operators earlier exchanged senior officials with each other, reported by China Business News.

It is reported that, Gao Tongqing, formerly general manager of Xinjiang Telecom, would replace retired Sun Jiuming as the general manager of Jiangsu Telecom, and Gao’s position would be taken by Xiao Jinxue, former director of strategy department of China Telecom.

Zheng Baoqi, former executive vice-president of Beijing Research Institute of China Telecom, would find his new post, director of strategy department, in the headquarters of China Telecom, and Li Zhigang, formerly vice manager of bushiness management department, is to take Zheng’s position.

Fu Liang, research director of Wangfang Consult, reckons that the shifts are just regular duty rotation within the company, which usually peaks in the middle or end of a year.

He says Zheng’s replacing Xiao as the director of strategy department implies, in terms of both technology and research level, the company is attaching great emphasis on strategic development. (Edited by Zhu Zhu, )
