TOM Online allies traditional media for Olympics coverage PDF Print E-mail

BEIJING, August 8 (InfoChina) – TOM Online (HK: 8282, Nasdaq: TOMO) on August 7 joined hands with 28 major domestic newspapers and 16 traffic radio stations to form an Olympics report alliance.

They will conduct all-round online and offline cooperation in Olympics news coverage and publication, by integrating their respective resources, advantages and influence in their circles.

Earlier, Sina Corp. (Nasdaq: SINA), Netease.com Inc. (Nasdaq: NTES) and Tencent (HK: 0700) co-established an Olympics reporting alliance on July 19.

According to market researcher iResearch, the sports channel of TOM Online has ranked the 2nd among all portal websites for half a year till July 2007.

Coverage of major sport events has become an increasingly important arena for the competition of China’s portal websites in recent years. (Edited by Chen Dongyi, )
