BEIJING, Aug. 14 (InfoChina) – eLong Inc. (Nasdaq: LONG) posted a net loss of 1.8 million yuan in the second quarter of this year, as against a net loss of 0.8 million yuan for the first quarter and a net profit of 10.20 million yuan for the second quarter of last year.
Despite that the company reported year-on-year growth of 12 percent and 44 percent respectively for their hotel reservation revenue and air ticket booking revenue in the quarter, eLong still suffered an operating loss of 2.2 million yuan, mainly due to increased costs on sales and marketing and service development.
By U.S. GAAP, net loss per diluted ADS was 0.08 yuan, versus an earning of 0.38 yuan for the same period of last year.
The company predicts revenue of 79 million to 87 million yuan in the third quarter, representing a year-on-year growth of 6 percent to 17 percent.(Edited by Chen Dongyi,
