BEIJING, Sept. 5 (InfoChina) – Netease.com Inc. (Nasdaq: NTES) announced without any portent that it would upgrade its email box capacity to unbounded level for free on September 10, reported Shanghai Securities News.

Meanwhile, market hearsay goes that Yahoo China will launch its free capacity-unbounded email box on September 7.

Internet analyst Xie Wen noted that email box services of Netease have its absolutely advantageous position in China.

Netease’s upgrading of email box capacity could be taken as a sign that the company is focusing on long-term construction, added Xie.

Internet analyst Cao Junbo also noted that email service is the second largest Internet service after search engines, and it can keep a huge base of young users, which becomes an important field for major portals to compete.

Yahoo email is a competitive product of Yahoo, yet its China market share lost to Netease for multiple reasons. (Edited by Chen Dongyi, )
