Baidu joins NASDAQ-100 Index, share price up PDF Print E-mail

BEIJING, Dec. 5 (InfoChina) – The share price of Baidu.com (BIDU.NASDAQ) went up 0.64 percent on Tuesday, the first US trading day the company became a component of the NASDAQ-100 Index and the NASDAQ-100 Equal Weighted Index.

The stock’s new status drove it to open higher and also closed up at 387.72 dollars.

Baidu’s 2007 accumulated transaction volume on the NASDAQ ended November, has exceeded 1,000 billion yuan, and it has become the most expensive China concept stock with its market value growing 15 times.

The Chinese language Internet search provider is the first company from China to be included into the NASDAQ-100.

The NASDAQ-100 Index, launched in January 1985, is a widely followed benchmark in the world. (Edited by Wei Wei, )
