BEIJING, Dec. 10 (InfoChina) – China’s largest PC producer Lenovo Group (0992.HK; LNVGY.PK) will launch a new brand called IdeaPad overseas, targeting market for consumers and small- and medium-sized enterprises, China Business News reported Monday.
Lenovo desktops will adopt the brand of IdeaCenter in line with Think naming principles for overseas market, the newspaper quoted unnamed informed source.
A source with Lenovo Greater China didn’t comment on the hearsay, noting that it needs to be confirmed by headquarters.
Qu Xiaodong, general manager of China Computer World Research noted that it is a less risky way for Lenovo to launch a new brand that is close to Think brand, rather than relying on Lenovo brand and its domestic marketing channels.
The IdeaPad brand can make the computer producer’s brand strategy more obvious, added Qu. (Edited by Chen Dongyi,
